NO EXTENSION/REFUND OF ANNUAL LEVY DUE TO CIRCUIT BREAKER PERIOD
15 Jul 2020
As part of Phase 2 of the post-circuit breaker measures, the Government has allowed casinos to resume operations from 1 July 2020 to a select group of patrons, and with safe management measures in place. There will be no refund or extension of the validity period of entry levies for the period that the casinos were closed.
Casino entry levies are not payments for goods sold or services rendered, and cannot be refunded or extended even when the levy holder is unable to enter the casino. The terms and conditions of the purchase of entry levies state clearly that the levies are strictly non-refundable, and notices are displayed at the casinos to remind patrons of this.
