FIRST READING OF GAMBLING REGULATORY AUTHORITY OF SINGAPORE BILL AND GAMBLING CONTROL BILL

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the introduction of the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Singapore Bill (GRA Bill) and the Gambling Control Bill (GC Bill) for First Reading in Parliament on 14 February 2022.
The GRA Bill establishes the Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA), which will be reconstituted from the Casino Regulatory Authority to become a gambling regulator that oversees the entire gambling landscape in Singapore. GRA is targeted to be established in mid-2022.
The GC Bill updates gambling laws and regulatory approaches to keep pace with the evolving gambling landscape. The Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) has also announced that social safeguards for gambling would be strengthened to better protect individuals and their families.
